How to prepare your business website for AI search
Preparing a business website for AI search means making its information accessible, specific and easy to verify. Start with pages that explain what you offer, who it suits, what it costs and what evidence supports your claims. GEO, or generative engine optimization, describes work aimed at visibility in AI-generated answers; inclusion is not guaranteed.

Does GEO replace SEO?
No. Google says its existing SEO practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode, with no special schema or AI text file required. Pages need to be indexed and eligible for search snippets to appear as supporting links. See Google’s guidance on AI features.
Which pages should a business create first?
Start with the questions customers ask before contacting you. Answer each clearly, updating an existing page when it already covers the topic.
- Service scope: Deliverables, exclusions, suitable customers and the next step.
- Pricing: Published prices or the factors that determine a quote, with recurring costs distinguished.
- Comparisons: When each option is appropriate, including reasons to choose an alternative.
- Case studies: The problem, the delivered work and only outcomes you can substantiate.
- Business identity: Who provides the service, where you operate and how to contact you.
For example, a website buyer can use our package checklist before requesting a quote, or the WordPress and custom software comparison before choosing a platform. Each page addresses a different decision.
How should the answers be written?
Answer the heading directly in the opening paragraph. Name the subject rather than relying on “this solution” or “our approach.” Explain important conditions next, then link to supporting evidence. A short answer should remain accurate when read outside the surrounding page.
For an Albanian business serving international clients, write complete Albanian and English versions, with correct language links and consistent service facts. Use actual locations served; a collection of near-identical city pages offers little help to a buyer.
Which crawler settings matter?
Check robots.txt, page indexing directives and hosting or CDN blocks. Google’s search features use Googlebot controls. For ChatGPT search, OpenAI identifies OAI-SearchBot as its search crawler. GPTBot controls potential training use separately, so allowing search does not require allowing training. Verify the current settings against OpenAI’s crawler documentation.
A developer should also confirm that important answers appear in the delivered HTML and that canonical URLs, language alternatives and internal links point to the intended pages. Crawling access is a prerequisite to check, not proof that a page will be cited.
How do you measure progress?
Keep a dated list of representative customer questions. Record the platform, language, exact query, cited URLs and whether Sajdoko is mentioned. Repeat under comparable conditions; a single answer is only an observation.
Track qualified enquiries and identifiable AI referral visits alongside those observations. Google includes its AI-feature traffic within Search Console’s Web reporting, so that report alone does not isolate a GEO result. Keep changes and their dates in a log before attributing an improvement to a new page.
What can Sajdoko help with?
We can review technical access, page structure and the questions your content leaves unanswered as part of our SEO work. Our 42 Tirana case study documents an SEO engagement, not a measured AI-citation result. Send your website and the questions your customers ask for a concrete starting scope.
